and it’s often full of tricks;
it orders you to fear the worst
though something needs to happen first.
It warns you not to be in love
or share your honest thoughts,
despite the fact that time is short
and love might be your last resort.
It talks you into giving up
when all you need to do,
is finish every job you start
and trust the counsel of your heart.
The mind assumes a cool disguise
to fill you full of doubt;
before your hopes begin to sink,
your will must teach your mind to think.
