Every night when I go to bed, I gaze at the night sky through the skylight in my bedroom for awhile. Through the skylight, I have seen shining stars and various constellations, airplanes with blinking lights, certain planets, countless shooting stars, the Perseid meteor showers, a few space satellites, and the International Space Station, which is the third brightest light in the sky. I was lucky enough to see the dust trail of Comet Q2 Lovejoy high in the western sky in 2014, it was so bright. I do not see the moon because its position never falls within the range of my skylight.
I thought I had seen it all, gazing at the night sky through my skylight, until early Wednesday morning, September 9, 2015, at 12:02 a.m. I had gone to bed at 11:50 p.m. As I do every night, I was gazing through the skylight. I love this peaceful, contemplative time. And then. . . .
Wait. What is that? A huge golden orb had suddenly appeared. Holy Mother of Pearl! I was looking at a UFO! It was mostly round, slightly elliptical, really BIG—just slightly smaller than the full Moon, light golden-orange (similar to orange juice), shining, almost glowing, and insanely FAST. This magnificent shining orb streaked into view from above and to the right, from approximately the northeast. It then stopped for approximately four seconds. The orb actually STOPPED!
Needless to say, I was awe-struck. I felt like we were staring at each other. Then it moved downward and to the left, to the west. It zoomed away as quickly as it had appeared in my section of the night sky. It stopped and changed direction in a matter of seconds, something serious ufologists—those who study UFOs—say only a UFO can do. The question now is whether it was extraterrestrial or human made. A secret government spacecraft, perhaps? I don’t think so. Something tells me it was extraterrestrial.
I could not go to sleep for a long time. I got up and wrote down in precise detail what I saw. I ate an almond tea cake to reward myself for actually seeing a UFO and for not calling my best friend. I did dance around the house a bit, singing “I saw a UFO. I really saw a great big flying orange orb.” I was exhilarated. This was a night to remember.
Since then, I intently gaze at the sky through the skylight every night, from around 11:50 p.m. to 12:10 a.m., hoping I will see this mysterious golden orb again. I have not yet. I frequently think about the spacefarer I was so fortunate to have seen. Most of all, I wonder why. Why was it streaking through the sky? What was its purpose? I also think about all the other people who have had similar sightings.
Did anyone else see this magnificent, mysterious orb the night of Tuesday, September 8, 2015? I realize that many people who see UFOs and report them to the authorities are mocked and considered to be crackpots or delusional. That is just not right. There is something out there. The question is—from where? I am pretty sure that most of these people know what they saw. I certainly know what I saw. What I do not know is where it calls home.
